Small Hydro

An area in which GPEA’s experience is well suited is the small hydro industry.  Due to the small size of these projects it is advantageous to those that do not wish to pay for the “Large Hydro” approach--involving a major Consulting firm’s engineering, planning and administration.  Projects brought online in this “Large Hydro” manner are expensive.

GPEA has the Engineering capability and experience to design and plan Small hydro projects.  Power plant equipment, not produced in house, are procured, when necessary, from the world market to provide a unique blend of quality, high performance equipment at a low cost to the small hydro owner.

Several small hydro suppliers produce their own turbines.  Turbine design is the strength of these small hydro suppliers.  However, not every stock turbine design fits each individual project.  Contract with GPEA for small hydro where offering and price provide the best value to the customer.
